So proud to live in Austin! These nearly 100 volunteers CRUSHED It’s My Park Day at Festival Beach Community Garden yesterday! It was a beautiful morning made more so with all these selfless volunteers. Endless amounts of thanks to @austinparksfdn, @hdr_inc & @fbcg_atx leaders for organizing this incredible crew in addition to all the folks who signed up last minute to give us a much needed helping hand. Truly in awe (& maybe even slightly emotional 🥹) for all your true spirit of giving. Let’s do that again. That was a blast! (📷: Soo)
Woohoo! Two more days til Fall Beautification at Festival Beach Community Garden for IMPD 2022! Major thanks to Barry, Robin & @austinparksfdn for organizing this fulfilling event that happens twice a year. We will be one of 100 parks collaborating with generous volunteers to make our parks & gardens shine! We are currently busy with mulch deliveries, plant gathering +++ to welcome all the helpers for this very satisfying and fun day while also tending to fall veggies for the Serafina food pantry at RBJ! Looking forward to sharing some of this garden magic with you all. Thank you & see y’all soon! (Group photo from Spring IMPD 2022).
Festival Beach Community Garden team work to make the garden dream work! Kudos to Val, Claire new members, Shannon & Daisy plus Dante from the Food Forest who installed a temporary fence with supplies provided by Julio on the garden’s east side! Plus, kudos to Gary & Reece who helped patch this nasty leak that had burst! Without these volunteers, FBCG would not succeed. Happy growing y’all!
